Summer Hummer

The Summer Hummer is an annual intersquad scrimmage that pits the 30 and older members (and alumni) of the club against the 29 and under members. Each year, a highly spirited and slightly competitive match is played for as close to 80 minutes as we can get. Immediatley thereafter, a social gathering for all members and supporters of the South Pittsburgh Hooligans is held.

2011 Edition

The 2011 Summer Hummer was played on August 6, 2011. Once again, the field at St. Simon and Jude was utilized as it is a great location and field size for the semi-competitive nature of the match. This year, the Old Boys pulled out a stunning last second victory to upset the Young Gunz. After the match, a cookout was enjoyed by all participants and spectators at Dormont Park with beer provided by our gracious sponsor Penn Brewery and food from Jamison's. Thanks to all who participated in and attended the match and social. Our club wouldn't be as fun as it is without all of you.

2010 Edition

The SPRFC would like to thank all who attended and participated in the 200 Summer Hummer. The game was high spirited and thoroughly entertaining with the Young Gunz pulling out a victory against the Old Boys. The cookout was a big hit in Dormont Park with great food provided by Rowdy BBQ of Brentwood and beer provided by Penn Brewery. The bar crawl for Mountain's 21st birthday in the South Side was a great ending to the night with plenty of stories that will be repeated over over a round of beers for many years to come!
